Eighty Milan priests headed by Cardinal Tettamanzi round off their visit to Russia celebrating Assumption in the Novodevichy Convent

Moscow, September 1, Interfax - Delegation of eighty Catholic priests headed by Archbishop of Milan Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi attended a festival Assumption liturgy in the Novodevichy convent in Moscow.

Greeting the guests, Metropolitan Yuvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna stressed traditionally good relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Milan Diocese and expressed hope for their successful development, the Moscow Patriarchate official website has reported.

Tettamanzi thanked for hearty welcome and said he considered important for his diocesan clerics to get acquainted with Orthodox spiritual tradition.

The Catholic delegation had already visited Vladimir and Sergiyev Posad. The cardinal met with the Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy Archbishop Eugeny of Verea and donated to the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Laura a cross with a particle of St. Ambrose of Milan relics reposed in the Milan Cathedral.
