Adding of a New Blog-Again and Again, the weblog of Fr. Milovan Katanic

I recently notice on my sidebar a new website referencing a..sinner.

Fr. Milovan Katanic has left several comments here and when I clicked over to his site, Again and Again, I was excited to see how much love he has for his Serbian Nation and culture.

I too have great love for this people and the nation of Serbia is in my daily prayers.

So I would direct readers of this blog over to his, especially as Serbia is much in the news these days and Father Katanic's perspective I'm sure would prove very valuable in these often one-sided portrayals of the Serbs by our media.

I will add Again and Again on my links on the sidebar under "Orthodox Blogs".

Thanks for adding me onto your links. Actually I was meaning to comment here a couple of a days ago since I see you have a list of Vegas churches. I guess the silly question would be first - are you from Vegas? And secondly (and more seriously) how familiar are you with the Serbian church there?

Father,

I am pleased to add you to my links.

Well, I have lived in Las Vegas now for about 23 years so I guess that qualifies me as a native now.

I am not too familiar with the Serbian church here other than when I was married, my reception was held in their hall and for Pan Orthodox Vespers during Great Lent we hold one of the Vesper services there.

I know they are in the process of building a brand new church which looks to be beautiful.

Is there anything I may be of help with?

Sophocles,
I am confused by your blog. Perhaps it is the lack of commentary when articles like this are posted: serbia-persecuting-romanian-minority

The last comment in that article is unkind and prejudicial and indicitive of the "one-sided portrayals" of Serbs.

I am probably just misunderstanding so please forgive me. Why do you post such articles without clarifying commentary?

Good eye.

I didn't even notice this post. I clicked on the SOURCE and it is from the New Kosova Report (NOTE: KosovA and not KosovO). It's an Albanian website.

I was trying to make sense of the article. There might be some truth but who knows what part is true.

Father bless,

Handmaid Leah,

If you scroll down my sidebar from the top, I have a link "Basic Information About this Blog" posted under "ABOUT THIS BLOG".

Upon my return to the Church several years ago, I was always interested about the perception of others toward the Church and read the news, often fuming at the sheer nonsense out there regarding our Holy church.

I don't really search out news but have a feed e-mailed to me daily. I will post on EVERYTHING in these feeds, excluding Greek Food Festival information(unless something out of the ordinary accompanies the information about the festival) and certain types of articles will not make it on my blog.

I was upset by this article just as you two were but posted it anyway. Perhaps such articles can be used as the impetus for putting forth the truth of the matters these obviously biased accounts try to convey wherein there is much revisionist history taking place under our noses.

A good example for myself is the "Macedonia" name dispute between Greece and FRYOM. This hits home with me as an ethinc Greek and upsets me personally.

As well, if you notice just yesterday a Bulgarian Orthodox Church was allowed to open in Turkey and this in marked contrast to Turkey's treatment of the Ecumenical Patriarch. I did not comment here.

Hopefully some good discussion may arise when such stories are posted here.

In Christ,

Sophocles

Thank you for the clarification and Fr. Milovan - thank you for the explanation on the source. Sourcing tells us a lot about what we need to know.
