Website of the canonical Orthodox Church broken in Estonia

07 August 2008, 12:30

Tallinn, August 7, Interfax - Hackers attacked official website of the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

"The website was broken on August 6, the unknown added obscene texts and images there," secretary of Metropolitan Kornily of Tallinn and All Estonia Priest Alexy Kolosov told journalists.

The website contained a material claiming the Estonian Orthodox Church backed up lesbians and prostitution.

"I feel sorry for the people, who use their talents and web skills to demonstrate low level of social and intellectual development in such an anti-social manner. After all, those who spit at heaven, at the Church, usually spit at his own soul," Kolosov said.

According to him, it is the first accident of such kind for the several years of website work.

The consequences of hackers attack are eliminated.
