The mysteries of the ancient temple of Jerusalem will be explored at a public lecture on Wednesday, Aug. 27, by the Rev. Prof. Laurent Cleenewerck of St. Innocent Orthodox Church. Given at the invitation of Eureka Masonic Lodge, the lecture will be at the Masonic Hall, 517 G St., Eureka, at 7 p.m.
Rev. Cleenewerck will explain why the temple is more than ever the focus of intense research and speculation, from its hypothetical rebuilding in the modern state of Israel to its significance in unlocking the authentic interpretation of the Christian Scriptures. The Temple is also considered by many the place of origin of the Knights Templar and Freemasonry, a topic which will be covered in this lecture.
The public is invited to attend this richly illustrated presentation, which will be followed by an open question-and-answer session. There is no charge, but seating is limited. For information, visit www.stinnocenteureka.org or call 443-2099 or 443-3079.
