Moscow, Jun. 5, 2008 (CWNews.com) - The Russian Christian news agency Blagowiest-Info reports that the Russian Orthodox Church has given Georgia’s Orthodox Church a relic of St. Andrew the Apostle.
The Georgian Orthodox Church traces its origins to St. Andrew. The saint's relic will visit Orthodox churches throughout Georgia until June 23. The donation of the relic by the Russian Orthodox Church to Georgia’s Orthodox Church comes at a time of serious political tension between the two countries over the region of Abkhazia.
