Rome, Nov. 20, 2007 (CWNews.com) - The government of Eritrea is moving to seize properties held by the Catholic Church in that country, Vatican Radio has warned.
Eritrea recently announced that two Italian missionary priests had been expelled from the African country. Vatican Radio fears that the expulsions are connected to a government drive to nationalize church-held properties. Eritrea has already nationalized property that belonged to the local Orthodox Church.
