Books I've Read(or am reading)-Two

Along with the little book, Christ is in our Midst, I am also listening to another book on cassette tape which has brought me to tears on more than one occasion and I cannot more highly recommend it to any and all, Orthodox and non-Orthodox: Father Arseny 1893-1973 Priest, Prisoner, Spiritual Father. You will not be disappointed.

I also have the actual book which I will read as I progress in "my stash" of books. It's quite far down the line, so it will be a long time before I actully read it.

Oooh, that's how I "read" Fr. Arseny...on tape! And you are right about the tears. What a magnificent story. I am so grateful it is published in audio because I fear the book would have stayed near the bottom of my pile, too. (I have the book as well!) Fr. Arseny showed me what "being" Orthdodox looked like but I agree than anyone, Orthodox and non-Orthodox alike, would appreciate it.

Yes. This is one resource I would love to share with so many in my circle of friends and acquaintances. I believe it may be on CD but I'm not sure. If it is, I will definately make the purchase.

And again, with love to you and your family on the loss of your mother Dorothea.

In Christ and in fellowship,

I haven't seen it in CD but didn't look for it either. The tapes worked for me since I have a tape deck in my car. I have shared the book with a couple of friends as well...too good not to!

I have that same CS Lewis collection you mentioned. Absolutely loved The Pilgrim's Regress...but haven't read the other two works yet. I am going to pick up the book you are reading now, Christ is in our Midst, it sounds like exactly what I need!

Thanks so much for your kind words regarding our loss. I am overwhelmed with how many people have taken the time to offer their condolences. We are so blessed.

Hi Soph,

I am glad to see you finished Fr. Arseny. I am just finishing the book and would love to hear it by tape or CD. May I borrow yours? It took me awhile to get through the book because I was reading other books in between the short chapters. An exceptional book, regardless!

Evangelia,

I actually borrowed the tape from Costa and I believe currently it is at my parents' home.

I will pick it up next time I'm there or if you speak with either them or Costa, just ask for it.
