And that brings up something that two different people have mentioned to me after seeing this and with which I would agree. Namely, a non-Orthodox like him preaching with such zeal and we Orthodox, having such lofty and sublime "material" at our very fingertips, fail to preach with this man's fervor.
Not that I like the Evangelical Protestant style he's utilizing. But what this man "sees" or better put, what "vision" he has in view while preaching is evident. The lack of the vision is also evident with one preaching who lacks this experiential insight.

The ministry may have one of its missions to reach out to the millions self identified both gay and orthodox laity. FYI the blog is more focused on the Ecumencial See then any other topic. Our Beloved Bishop Veron Ashe was a homosexual that went by the name Julian in San Francisco. Our beloved Bishop died not of cancer but of AIDS. Where were you when he was suffering? This is why he got hooked on crack and got arrested. Because he was hiding a terrible secret that made him suffer. This talented man suffered because he was gay. His people hide the truth so they can capitalize on his talents. God forgive them for their greed and for hiding the truth about this great man's struggle. The truth needs to be told for the rest of his soul. His anniversary is coming and it is a straight up sin to keep this lie in his name. Can we say we don't love him and respect him still because of the sins of the flesh? God forgive those who stand in his name, hiding his secret in the name of the Lord. Goodness and Mercy will follow this man now and forever. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can judge this man. One year later and we are still hiding the truth of his experience.
If his sins are forgiven then why expose it to the world to judge again, when God is the final judge? A prostitute, Rahab was forgiven and what you hear about her life there after in ministry is none existent except that she was used to usher the presence of the king into being. She was powerful in what she did... Carried and held many secrets of those around her, but it's never stated that she exposed them nor they her. God forgives... But again we are just flesh and blood with the excuse that "I'M ONLY HUMAN". The nature of man caused the downfall but the blood of Jesus, became man for man, DELIVERED MAN. So, do I agree with 'SIN'? NO but I am not God. That much power has not been given to me to put a man in heaven or hell. If so, many would be in hell...lol. Sorry, but god is LOVE. We must emulate and articulate God's LOVE for people!
Exposition is God's love judgement- we as the human race has no right to act for God in exposing someone- what does that do for you when someone is exposed? I'll tell you- it only creates a self righteous mindset where pride can dominate- and we all know that pride comes before a fall -

I knew Bishop Ashe personally from a spiritual angle. I know he was supportive of homosexuals, lesbians, drug addicts and the like... a character that I would liken to that of our LORD Jesus.
I know he wasn't perfect and by the Grace of GOD, I do not fall into any of the above.
Come as you are unto the LORD but don't stay as you are. Allow the blood of Jesus thru the Holy Spirit to bring transformation.
I never knew him to be gay. He said he had cancer but you said he had AIDS. Why did you not persuade him to tell the truth prior to his untimely passing?
Why did you not speak publicly on his behalf while he was alive as you have done publicly now?
Why are you dishonoring him now that he is dead?
If he lived a lie or he lived the truth is now between him and his maker. The LORD is rewarding him or dealing with him accordingly.

I love the ministry that God had given him while he was here on Earth he's going to be well missed and the ministry that God entrusted him with while he was here may his precious soul rest in peace until the day of Resurrection Day we will see him again because if we confess our sins before God he is faithful and just to forgive us of all our sins and cleanse up from all unrighteousness rest well my young brother in Christ Jesus you will be forever missed gone way too soon.... you have finished your race and your course down here on Earth you fought the good fight of faith

I was blessed to hear Archbishop Ashe in person at my church in the early 2000's. I had a preconceived notion of what to expect from him when I saw him in the pulpit with his robes and accoutrements. But when he started preaching, I was mesmerized. Not even close to what I expected. I was in the choir stand, close to him and I could feel his anointing. So, what I have to say to those who feel the need to disparage his reputation is what Jesus said to the crowd with stones in their hands..."let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
Amen i so agree. This is my 2nd message i heard of this mans preaching and let me tell you he is the Lords anointed. No one is rightous no not one all sin and fall short of the glory of God. There is a fire in my bones when i hear the truth being preached with such passion. God used him so much because he was not bound in religion. We cant sit here and say He had hidden sin apparently it wasnt hidden if mr or ms anonymous knew about it. I dont support sin but i know about its struggle i was sexually abuse as a kid hooked on dope and was homeless until one day the Lord Jesus Christ came into my life when i called on him and saved me delivered me and gave me a purpose. I became a new creation and started to fight against my own desires battle the lust of the flesh so to say that Veron was livin in hidden say and bash him name is wrong. Jesus said learn this that i desire mercy and not sacrifice. Anyways people think they are so holy and rightous that dangerous our goodest deed is a dirty rag before chirst. There is evidence that he signed an accumenical accord and the church practices in clergy sharing, etc. with the Mar Thoma Orthodox Church in India and Syria. As to his sexuality, I doubt that it really matters. Retired Bp. Gene Robinson is widely known for being the first openly gay priest to be consecrated a bishop. Notice the words "openly gay". If you think that Bp. Robinson was the first gay bishop or priest then you're kidding yourselves.
What's more frustrating is that anyone needs to hide their sexuality. It's sad too since so many within the LGBTQIA Community. The
Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar, India is in full communion with the Anglican Communion.
Let the dead rest in peace. Focus on the man and not his sexuality.
Unless you have proof this man was gay, you need to be careful how you put your mouth on God's people. Do you have proof this man died of AIDS? Do you have his medical records?.Alps in case you didn't know, AIDS is cancer. It is called Sarcoma
