The Moscow Patriarchate's flock from different countries of the world collected per month more than 25 mln rubles for South Ossetia

Moscow, September 22, Interfax - More than 25 mln rubles received since August, 15 to September, 19 from the archdioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church on the special bank account opened according to blessing of Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia to collect money for the victims in South Ossetia.

As the executive secretary of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for Church Charity Hegumen Seraphim (Kravchenko) says, the donations come mainly from Russia, but some transfers come also from Ukraine, Belorussia, Germany, Switzerland, Panama, Canada, the Moscow Patriarchate site reports.

More than 4 mln of the purse were consumed for the realization of the first stage of the Church project, when 500 "family packages" - the complects of pieces urgent for household - were delivered in Tskhinvali by four trucks on September, 2.

The archdioceses, monasteries and parishes, metochions and theological schools of the Russian Orthodox Church, private persons and organizations answered the appeal of Alexy II to help those injured in South Ossetia.
