A delegation led by Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin will have an audience with Pope Benedict XVI on the eve of the Day of Slav Letters, Bulgarian Education and Culture, May 24.
During the official trip to Vatican and Rome, the minister will be accompanied by several statesmen and church officials.
The delegation will visit the grave of St Cyril in the San Clemente Cathedral on the second day of the visit May 24, when Bulgaria pays tribute to the saints who created the first Slav alphabet.
Flowers will also be laid at the Bulgarian plaque in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where Slavonic Orthodox books have been inaugurated.
Minister Kalfin will also meet Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, the Vatican's Secretary for relations with states.
