Moscow, September 5, Interfax - Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia has awarded primate of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia Metropolitan Laurus with Order of St. Vladimir, Second Class, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary in episcopal orders and name day of the latter.
The decoration was presented by Bishop Isidor of Yekaterinodar and Kuban who headed the Moscow Patriarchate’s delegation that had arrived in the US a few days ago.
The award ceremony took place after the solemn liturgy in the Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, held as a part of celebrations of the reunion of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Orthodox Encyclopedia church research center reports.
