Saint Golindoux was a Persian, living in the reign of Chosroes II, King
of Persia (590-628), and of Maurice, Emperor of New Rome (582-602).
Moved by a divine revelation to become a Christian, she was betrayed to
Chosroes by her husband and was cast into a dungeon called Oblivion for
eighteen years, withstanding all attempts to make her deny Christ, and
preserved by the grace of God. Set at liberty through the visitation of
an Angel, she went to Jerusalem, and then to Constantinople, where she
fell asleep in peace. She was called Mary in holy Baptism.
