Venerable Macarius the Abbot of Pisma

Saint Macarius of Pisma and Kostroma was a fellow ascetic of St Paul of Obnora. In the second half of the fourteenth century, he founded the Makariev Transfiguration monastery at the River Pisma on the outskirts of Kostroma.
